POP elastomer resin

Release Date:2026-03-03

POP (polyolefin elastomer) is a key toughening and functional modifier for flexible packaging films. With a metallocene ethylene-α-olefin copolymer structure, it combines high elasticity, thermoplasticity, and excellent compatibility. Widely used in PE/PP composite films, it significantly enhances toughness, puncture resistance, low-temperature resistance, and heat-sealability. When used as a toughening masterbatch or blending component, POP can substantially improve a film’s low-temperature impact resistance, puncture resistance, and tear resistance, addressing issues such as brittle cracking in frozen food films at -40°C and damage in fresh produce packaging. Its high transparency and low haze make it suitable for food and pharmaceutical display packaging; its low melting point and wide heat-seal window optimize heat-seal strength and efficiency, making it ideal for easy-tear lid films and retort pouches. POE exhibits excellent compatibility with PE and PP and can be used in the toughening layer of plastic films or as an interfacial compatibilizer in BOPA/PE composite films to enhance laminate strength and weather resistance. Typical applications include frozen food films, fresh produce vacuum films, retort pouches, stretch wrap, and easy-tear lid films.
